The Musings of a Fae Storyteller

Birthdate:
9 March 1979
Schools:
I'm a published writer with a dream of becoming a published author. I have been previously contracted with pay to write ezine articles. Writing ezine articles does not make me an author. I do consider myself on the right path to becoming a published author. Having five published pieces of work is an excellent start. My current plan is to have my first novel submitted before December 31, 2009. I plan on this novel being rejected initially. The rejection letter will hang right next to my first dollar from writing.

My journal is a combination of a writing blog and a personal journal. I've been posting frequently about my novel The Rose and the Crown of late. Some of the entries are public, but most of the actual details of the novel are locked as Friends Only.

I was raised in Machias, Maine. It is a small town with an even smaller library. There had been a single used bookstore that closed when I was thirteen. I acquired most of my books during the infrequent trips to Ellsworth or Bangor. The most notable bookstore memories were of my Fourth of July trips to Eastport where I shopped at a now-closed Ice Cream Parlor.

After I graduated from high school, I went to the University of Maine at Farmington. I picked the school because of its Psychology and Creative Writing programs. Due to the popularity of the program, only English majors were allowed to take Creative Writing classes. I manipulated the system by switching to a Psych/English dual major. I changed it back after graduation.

I also met my wonderful wife at college. She is not only my best friend, but also my copyeditor. We've been married since March 24, 2001. She is on my friends list so don't feel intimidated if alicetheowl replies to you.

After a long chain of events, I ended up in Asheville, NC for five-and-a-half years of my life. It was a beautiful area and a relatively inexpensive place to live. I worked at a terrible job that ate at my soul. My work never recognized my contribution until I turned in my one month notice. Only then did they try to make offers to retain me.

I moved to Schenectady, NY with my wife to live with one of my good friends from college, kkatowll. I had trouble finding a job at first but ultimately ended up getting a job at a Crisis Stabilization Residence where I work with individuals with a variety of mental health issues. It is a great and rewarding job with wonderful co-workers.

I've started to reach the point in my life where I cannot remember just how much I have written. I have written at least five total rough drafts. Many of them will be scrapped or completely rewritten but they have given me the knowledge I need to write what I believe will be a successful novel. The novel, as mentioned above is The Rose and the Crown. At this time, I'm within 36 pages of completing the second draft. I plan to have the second draft completed and a quick third draft finished by July 31.
